Itinerary for 3 Night / 4 Days Mesmerising Chikmagalur Holiday Package

Day 1: Chikmagalur Arrival & Sightseeing

On the first day of the 4 day Chikmagalur package, our driver will pick you up at the Chikmagalur bus station and drop you at the selected hotel as mentioned in the package. After you check-in and freshen up, the driver with an exclusive taxi will pick you for an entire day of sightseeing and fun.

One of the top tourist attractions to visit in Chikmagalur is the Mullayanagiri Peak, which is the highest peak of Karnataka. Once at the peak, you will be astonished with the panoramic view of the valley around. For a quick tea break or refreshment, stop at the Siri Cafe. Take a few photos with the iconic Siri Cafe Statue, which is a majestic and artistic idol of a woman with a pool in front.

Go to Seethalayana Giri Temple. Admire its architectural beauty and spend time amid its spiritual environment. After that leave for Honnamana Halla Falls. Powerful sound of water flowing down into a pool greets you at the waterfall, which is surrounded by lush greenery. From here, visit Jhari Falls by Jeep ride. The impressive sight of this waterfall has given it the name of Buttermilk Waterfalls. You also visit Baba Budangiri Hills and Z point view, both promising exciting trek and hypnotising views.

After sightseeing, return to the hotel for the night’s stay in a comfortable and luxurious room of your choice.

Day 2: Chikmagalur Sightseeing

Enjoy a complimentary breakfast at your hotel and then leave for the second day of sightseeing. Our Driver cum guide will be ready with a comfortable and clean taxi.

You begin the second day of the holiday by visiting Hebbe Waterfalls. Spend some time watching the streams of water falling from a height of 168 metres. This waterfall has two sections- Dodda Hebbe and Chinna Hebba. Also visit the Shanti Falls, which is surrounded by the forests. SIt on a nearby rock to watch its scenic beauty or play with the water streams here.

You will then go to Kemmanagundi Viewpoint, which stands at approximate height of 1434 metres above sea level. Capture the panoramic view of the valley in your cameras or just sit and let yourself get immersed in its vast beauty. From here, go for the Z point trekking, the route will take you through forest with captivating views of the mountain ranges.

From here, visit the Kallathigiri Waterfalls, also called Kalhatti Falls. This beautiful waterfall is known for its association with sage Agastya and is also visited by devotees. Near to it, you can visit the Kallathigiri Temple. It is an ancient Lord Shiva temple, built with a style of Vijayanagara architecture.

After the day’s sightseeing, return to your Chikmagalur hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Chikmagalur Sightseeing

Another day in paradise. After breakfast, leave for another day of sightseeing in our private cab.

Visit Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary. If permitted by the Forest Department, take a Jeep Safari ride. Bhadra Wildlife sanctuary, established in 1951, is now a part of Tiger Project of India. Spread across the district of Chikmagalur and Shimoga, it covers an area of 490 square kilometres. It has rich wildlife, including several tigers and leopards. You can also find rare reptiles and avian fauna here. Along with safari rides, rock climbing, island camping, bird watching and trekking is also common here.

If there is time, then visit Ratnagiri Bore or the Mahatma Gandhi Park. It is a beautiful park with flower gardens, lawns, musical fountains and toy train rides.

Day 4: Checkout | Chikmagalur, Belur & Halebidu Sightseeing

Last day of the tour. After breakfast, pack your luggage and check-out from the hotel. Proceed to visit tourist attractions in Chikmagalur, Belur & Halebid.

Visit the Hirekolale Lake, which is located at the base of Mullayanagiri hills. A popular sight for photographs, this lake with a backdrop of mountains is indeed enchanting. Visit Coffee museum and learn about the history of coffee making from drying, roasting, tasting to grinding and powdering. From here, visit the Yagachi Dam and enjoy a few water sports like boating, kayaking, banana boat ride, speed boating, and water scooters.

Go to Belur and visit the star shaped Chennakeshava temple with its magnificent Hoysala temple complex. It is worth exploring for its architectural and historical importance along with religious associations. From Belur head towards Halebidu and visit the largest temple of the town- Hoysaleshwara Temple. Dating back to the 12th century, this temple is dedicated to lord Shiva and boasts of exceptional architecture and craftsmanship.
